Brian is one of the original founders of The Daystar Project and plays keyboards as well as writing and arranging music for the project.  He also comes from an extraordinarily talented family.  “My grandfather was a music professor in Oklahoma and everyone in his family played at least one instrument.  During the 1930s they were known as the Von Trapp Family of the Midwest,” Brian says.

It should come as no surprise that Brian began his musical career at a young age.  “My mother started me on piano when I was four years old, and later the organ and accordion,” he recalls. “I have also played the alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, guitar, sang bass in choirs, and began writing music at 15.”

The only founding member remaining with the Project, Brian is still enthusiastic about the band after all these years.  “This is a very cool group!” he says.  “God has given me an opportunity to write some creative arrangements of both cover songs and hymns, as well as some original music.”

Brian and his wife Leah reside in Katy, Texas. They have gone through some incredible changes over the years, most notably when their 18-year-old daughter, Victoria, was murdered by a group of young men in 2004.  “God gave us an incredible peace about her passing only a few days later,” Brian says.  “It was at this point that God gave me a passion for music like I had never felt or seen before.  There was a passion in my music and a burning desire to share the message of The Way.”

Since then Brian has been taking seminary classes and getting opportunities to share the message and his story.  “Our ministry is about prayer, healing and to light the fire in the belly of the church for revival," he says.  Our Lord is returning soon, and He does not want to come back for a cold or lukewarm church.  I am excited about playing for an audience of One and being a vessel for revival!”
